Essam Muhammad | Seattle, WA
Runnin’
Music Video, 4:23 min. (2020)

This song reflects a feeling of constant anxiousness: running toward a destination, or running away from a situation. This piece creates space for American Muslims — underrepresented in mainstream media and who may experience poverty and hardship — to create dialogue, humanize experience, and progress together as an Ummah (community).
