18th Annual Make-a-Turkey-Out-of-a-Potato Festival

A turkey made out of a potato and red, brown, orange, and yellow pipecleaners.

You’re invited to our 18th Annual Make-a-Turkey-Out-of-a-Potato Festival from the comfort of your home! This year, the Tang Education Team has created a video (see below!) that will show you four ways to make your own holiday turkey centerpieces out of various art materials — including vegetables!

Learn how to make these four turkey creations:

  • traditional turkey potato
  • alternative-foods turkey
  • the paper turkey
  • turkey mask

Download or view the instructions.

Once you complete your turkeys, please send us photos of them so we can share your creations on our website and via social media. Submit your photos to Laurie M. Tisch Educator for K-12 and Community Programs Sunny Ra at sra@skidmore.edu by November 29, and share them on your own social media accounts by including #TangTeachingMuseum.
