Manufacturing Readiness Grants Program

2022 Impact Report

Two years after the launch of the Manufacturing Readiness Grants program, Conexus Indiana partnered with the Dauch Center for the Management of Manufacturing Enterprises at Purdue University to assess the impact of the program, which has funded more than $17 million in technology-driven investment across more than 60 Indiana counties.

The data confirmed the significant impact that the Manufacturing Readiness Grants program has had on company growth, the state’s economy and the Hoosier workforce.

Key findings from the survey include:
  • Companies that adopted a smart manufacturing technology on average added five new positions; they also anticipated wages to grow on average $196,000 per project.
  • The average revenue impact to companies was $2.5 million, with 37 percent of those companies reporting that they anticipated revenue growth of more than 10 percent.
Hear from Manufacturing Readiness Grants recipients:

“The automated robotic system we’ve implemented transformed not only our business but sent waves through the trailer manufacturing industry as a whole. With the assistance provided through the Manufacturing Readiness Grants program, we are proud to be the first trailer manufacturer in the United States to produce a trailer from beginning to end, all within our automated robotic cell.”

Mike Teso, President at Liberty Trailers (Putnam County)
