West Seattle Junction Association
Art of Music -- Call for Musicians
The West Seattle Junction Association plans to present several performances by musicians in the heart of the West Seattle Junction to take place during the Junction’s Second Thursday Art Walks during a portion of 2024 (June through December). In addition, plans are afoot for presenting the 2024 edition of Muse Fest: The Power of Women's Voices (featuring female musicians exclusively); performers will provide entertainment at multiple business locations in West Seattle during the West Seattle Art Walk date chosen for Muse Fest. This Call for Musicians is an invitation to apply to be considered for performing for 90 minutes at an Art of Music/Muse Fest event (6:00 pm to 7:45 pm with one 15 minute break at the midway point); locations are all in West Seattle.
Art of Music events are scheduled for only a portion of each calendar year.
Applications will be accepted throughout the calendar year for this year's and future events; the earlier your application, the more events for which you can be considered.

Musicians/bands chosen to perform for The Art of Music will receive a payment ($150 solo/duo act; $175 trio; $225 quartet) and in addition will be allowed to set out a tip jar, business card, and self-promotional flier. We anticipate promotion of the appearances through such channels as the West Seattle Junction Association Newsletters and Website, the West Seattle Art Walk website, through social media platforms, and on fliers.
Some performances for The Art of Music have been outdoors and some indoors; all Muse Fest performances are indoors. The outdoor location in front of Key Bank in the Alaska Junction has an overhang under which the performer(s) can set up. Musicians must bring all of their own equipment (although the Junction Association has provided a battery powered amplifier -- upon request -- for outdoor use in the Alaska Junction in the past.) No electrical outlets will be available for the outdoor performances and musicians are encouraged to provide their own self sufficient (power-wise) equipment for the outdoor appearances. Electrical outlet access is anticipated for the indoor venues.
By submitting an application for consideration the applicant gives permission on behalf of the named musician/band for his/her/their photos and video recordiings to be taken by individuals acting on behalf of the West Seattle Junction Association/The Art Walk/The Art of Music and for such photos to be used in social media/online publication, including -- but not limited to -- in the West Seattle Junction Association newsletter(s) and posted on the West Seattle Junction Association website and West Seattle Art Walk website and to be used for other Art of Music-related purposes.
