Pennsylvania has seen record rainfall and a growing number of extreme weather events at times over the last decade. Here in the South Hills, we are certainly not strangers to water issues and have been under a federal consent decree for water management for many years. But different parts of our state have different water needs - some have too much, and some have too little. As we adjust to changing patterns, it will become increasingly more important for business and life needs alike that we take a comprehensive look at our water systems. 

That is why we will be hosting a virtual event, State of PA Water, from 2 – 3 p.m. on Thursday, March 9th.

We hope you will be able to join us online for this virtual event as we hear from guest speakers, including:

• Andrew Warner, Director of the Penn State Water Initiative and PA Water Resources Research Center (PAWRRC).
• Dr. Emily Elliott, Co-founder & Director Emeritus, Pittsburgh Water Collaboratory and Professor at University of Pittsburgh’s Department of Geology & Environmental Science.
• Susan K. Weaver, P.E., Environmental Program Manager, Office of Water Programs, PA Department of Environmental Protection.

This virtual event will explore challenges, water management priorities, and policies that will impact safe and abundant water resources for PA’s future.
